I used the program adiabat to calculate the An of crystalizing plagioclase from basaltic melt. How could I know the accuracy of the results?
Thank you!

Windows / A problem with alphaMELTS installation
April 28, 2015, 05:57:10 PM
I am a uer of adiabat_1ph_3-0, now I want to install alphaMELTS. MATLAB program which including the perl and environment variable-the PATH, both have been done, and I had installed adibat_1ph_3-0 based on them sucessfully before. After I expanded the file "windows_alphamelts_1-4", I double clicked "install.command" (execute with the perl program)and then problem came. the DOS window did not appear, it flashed and disappear. I remember that when I installed the 1ph_3-0, the DOS window would appear to ask me "yes" or "no" to install. I spend several hours on it but it do not work.
thank you for your help!

Recently, I want to calculate the PGE variation during different degree of partial melting using the program MELTS. The calculation is based on the melting of a garnet lherzolite mantle at 30 kbars. PGE content, and S, sulfur solubilities, and PGE partition coefficients (Dsul/sil) is needed as the main parameters.

However, it is very difficult to find the right MELTS file contain such variables. I find a similar calculation in this paper:

Naldrett, A.J., 2010. Secular Variation of Magmatic Sulfide Deposits and Their Source Magmas. Economic Geology: v. 105, pp. 669-688.

I had write to the author, He didn't reply by far. So, I am writing to ask for such MELTS file here.

Would you please send it to me? My email is: jiaweizhang@live.cn

Thank you so much for you attention and help!

Hi, I came to a question when I used windows adiabat_1ph_3-0. The question is that: I input initial H2O=2.5 in the melts file (andesite.melts), after caculation(magma fractionation process), and I find the new produced file Liquid_comp_tbl.txt, open it and the HO2 has been changed to 1.78 while the temperature is high than the magma liquidus at that pressure, while in the bulk_comp_tbl, H2O is still 2.5. I was wandering if it is ture that adiabat can caculate the solubility of H2O at T and P automatically, if the initial H2O seted higher than the solubility, adiabat will throw the portion away directly.
