Thanks for your reply.
I will try the procedure as your advice.

Hi Paul,
when I add a line, "Output: both" in the morb.melts file for example, Alphamelts always shown "Error during input file read, offending record: 'output: bot' ", when Alphamelts reading the melts file. Thanks in advance.

I can't find the activity of oxide of a mafic silicate melt (except aH2O) in any output_file, when using Alphamelts. Please show us how to calculate them. Thanks in advance!

Hi Paula,
I've been attempting to model the magma mixing process. For example, I assume that the system is totally adiabatic, and the mixed magma is the mixing of the parental magma (e.g. Morb ) and its fractionated melt (e.g. the Morb after 30 % fractionated crystallization) with different proportions. It is easy to calculate the liquidus of the mixed magma using adiabat_1ph, and the actual temperature of the mixed magma is calculated based on heat balance using the respective Cp (heat capacity). The results show that sometime the actual temperature> the liquidus of the mixed magma, and sometimes not, why? Is that right for my method to calculate the actual temperature of the mixed magma? Is there any convenient way to calculate them using adiabat_1ph?

Best regards

Dan

It's easy to calulate the liquid line of decent with a specific composition using Adiabat_1ph. So the first question is: can we calculate the reverse process to obtain the parental magma(assuming that the parental magma had fractionated at a fixed pressure)? If the answer is yes,  the second question is : is any convenient way to process this?

I have a question concerning the amphibole-saturated liquid(basaltic system).
My calculation is the crystallization process. At the late stage of crystallization, the amphibole becomes a saturated phase, if the starting material containing water(e.g. 2 wt%). what I want to know is how much water does the melt contain then the amphibole becomes a saturated phase(could you list some references that MELTs based on? ), and the accuracy of the prediction.
