Hi everybody,
I am pretty excited to pass from the GUI mode of MELTS to the batch mode of alphamelts and I am trying to follow this tutorial
https://magmasource.caltech.edu/forum/index.php?topic=131.0#post_eop

The only issue I have is that I cannot find the required file
FracXtalTutorial.txt
as the link seems to be dead.
Does anybody have a copy?
Thank you!
alberto

Hi Alberto,

Make sure you are logged in and then you should be able to see it at the end of the post - a link and a little paperclip icon. Any problems let me know.

Cheers,
Paula

Thank you very much for the quick answer Paula,
I am afraid that even if I am logged in I cannot see the link at the end of the post ...

Oh, I'm sorry. This is an [https://magmasource.caltech.edu/gitlist/Workshops.git/raw/Rice_2015/workshop_files/tutorial/FracXtalTutorial.txt]alternative link[/url] from the workshops archive. Or I've copied and pasted the contents below:

Quote
! Fractional crystallization example for alphaMELTS version of
! Mark Ghiorso's GUI MELTS tutorial from
! http://melts.ofm-research.org/Manual/UnixManHtml/examples-test.html

! for low-pressure use MELTS
ALPHAMELTS_VERSION         MELTS

! Use isobaric for fractional crystallisation
ALPHAMELTS_MODE          isobaric

! need to set tempearture path for isobaric mode, equivalent to:
! 'Final Temperature: 1000.00' and 'Increment Temperature: 3.00'
! in Morb.melts for GUI version (as initial Temperature is 1200
! there we need a negative DELTAT)
ALPHAMELTS_DELTAT        -3
ALPHAMELTS_MINT        1000

! this one turns on fractional crystallization for all solids
! equivalent to 'Mode: Fractionation' in Morb.melts
ALPHAMELTS_FRACTIONATE_SOLIDS true

! use this one for backwards compatibility with Adiabat_1ph 2
ALPHAMELTS_OLD_SPINEL true

! Use Celsius instead of Kelvin
ALPHAMELTS_CELSIUS_OUTPUT true
