Version 1.4 was posted on July 18th, 2014.

Version 1.4 is mainly a bug fix release but also includes, by request, a 64-bit version of alphaMELTS for Windows. Note that the 64-bit executable will now be installed by default; to install the 32-bit version, delete or rename the alphamelts_win64.exe file. Instructions for setting the path in Windows 8 have been added to the warning that install.command prints, if appropriate. The warning message about setting the path should be clearer on all platforms (previously it tended to scroll out of view as more, less important, messages were printed). A new version of VM alphaMELTS is also available, which is now based on Lubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Google Translate options have been added to the alphaMELTS manual for about ten languages (as using the online translation tool will only translate part of the main text). For each sentence it is possible to 'Contribute a better translation' - any suggestions will be much appreciated and will be saved for the next time someone uses the automatic translation tool. Contributions are anonymous, whether or not you are logged into a Google account. Thanks!

The links to the Gitweb server, including README.TXT, are currently broken. This problem will be fixed soon. In the meantime, the current README.TXT is attached below. README.TXT contains a full list of changes since previous alphaMELTS versions, as well as checksum values for the downloadable package files (in particular MELTS_Lubuntu.ova).

Cheers,
Paula
